Arts Education is a major focus of the Peacock Performing Arts Center—it’s represented by the first word in our mission to “Preserve, Promote and Participate.” We endeavor to preserve the arts for future generations by offering quality educational programs to adults, children and youth.

Center Stage Arts Program

PPAC is pleased to offer “Center Stage at the Peacock,” an eight week after-school arts program for students in grades 3-8 on Monday afternoons, from 3:30 until 5:00. The program begins January 9 and ends February 27 with a Final Showcase at 6 pm. Participants will gain experience in Improvisation/Acting, Art, Dance and Magic, taught by experienced performers.

We also plan to offer occasional adult theatre workshops on various kinds of theatre skills during the year, from acting to tech work. Watch our website for details.

Our vision to preserve the arts in our community will mean ever-expanding programs, and we want to hear from our community about what a quality arts education program should include. Monthly News

The next 6-week session of our popular Ballroom Dance classes, taught by former Arthur Murray Dance Director Laurel Adams, starts in January. Beginners on Mondays starting Jan. 9, 7-8:30, and Intermediate/Advanced starting Tuesdays, Jan. 10, 7-8:30.

We’re pleased to announce Center Stage at the Peacock, an after-school arts program for grades 3 – 8. The eight week program will run January 9 – February 27, ending with a Final Showcase.

On January 21st, we’re bringing back a Peacock favorite: The Sock Hops. Singing all your favorites from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s in four-part harmony, these fabulous entertainers usually pack the house, so get your tickets early!

Ballroom Dance Classes

Ballroom Dance classes, taught by former Arthur Murray Dance Director Laurel Adams, have been a special favorite for several years. Couples or singles are welcome to join our classes that feature the six most popular ballroom dances. The next 6-week session begins in January — beginner classes on Mondays, starting Jan 9, and intermediate/advanced on Tuesdays, starting Jan 10.

Each class goes from 7- 8:30, is $15.00 for couples and $8.00 for singles. All proceeds go toward the Peacock Performing Arts Center. Call our office to reserve a space and join the fun!
